Software tools have become an inherent part of research methods and are increasingly vital to the scientific community and are broadly supported by different US funding agencies. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Research Computing (FASRC) department provides a comprehensive set of technical solutions to a wide range of research needs across the majority of Harvard University, including 600 faculties. The Research Software Engineering (RSE) team at FASRC acts as an institutional memory on software projects, and it offers a cost-effective solution. We will go over RSE services and our working model, and the newly formed Harvard RSE community.
