Fast Accurate NURBS Optimization (FANO)

FANO: An optical optimization program that optimizes NURBS freeform surfaces to provide superior image quality

This video demonstrates the working of an imaging optimization code for NURBS (non-uniform rational basis spline) optical surfaces developed at Lincoln Laboratory. This optimization code FANO (Fast Accurate NURBS Optimization) is the first code to optimize NURBS spline freeform surfaces in imaging systems, resulting in higher resolution imaging than can be obtained with current polynomial surfaces.
